Recommended use: Source of antioxidants that help reduce cell damage caused by free radicals, and fungal polysaccharides with immunomodulating properties. Helps increase resistance to stress/anxiety in individuals with a history of chronic stress. Ashwagandha is traditionally used in Ayurveda for memory enhancement.
Recommended dose: Blend 2 teaspoons with 240 to 300 ml hot or cold water or dairy or plant-based milk. May also be added to smoothies, yogurt, oatmeal, baked goods and more. For use relating to stress, take 2 times per day. For use relating to antioxidants, fungal polysaccharides and use in Ayurveda, take 1-2 times per day.
Recommended duration of use: Consult a healthcare practitioner for use beyond 12 weeks.
Cautions: Consult a healthcare practitioner prior to use if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, have any prostate condition or disorder, any sexual dysfunction or disorder, any psychological condition or disorder, a liver disorder or iron deficiency or any other medical conditions or are taking any prescription medications or supplements, or if symptoms persist or worsen. Stop use and consult a healthcare practitioner if you develop symptoms of liver trouble such as yellowing of the skin/eyes (jaundice), stomach pain, dark urine, sweating, nausea, unusual tiredness and/or loss of appetite. Avoid taking with alcohol or products that cause drowsiness.
Known adverse reactions: Rare, unpredictable cases of liver injury associated with green tea extract-containing products have been reported (in Canada and internationally). Hypersensitivity (allergy) may occur, in which case discontinue use. Some people may experience drowsiness. Exercise caution if operating heavy machinery, driving a motor vehicle or involved in activities requiring mental alertness.
