As humans, we travel forwards and backwards throughout the day but it’s rare for us to move from side-to-side. This can become problematic overtime. Without practice, we lose the ability to move sideways which can increase our risk of injury. Incorporating lateral movements, both in your workout routine and day-to-day life, will help to build a balanced body. Lateral exercises promote strength and stability within the body, whether in the form of a weighted exercise or a long stretch.
